Buying and Selling
Traveling Pants purchases new, nearly new and gently used children's clothing and other items from families in our community. We buy items based on condition, quality, marketability and current inventory needs.
What We Buy: We buy clothing, shoes and accessories (contemporary, not vintage) for infants and children sizes NB-16 as well as junior girls' and young men's sizes. We also buy baby equipment, name brand toys, books, DVD's, costumes, and other children's items on an as-needed basis.
We only purchase clothing that has been recently washed and is new or very gently used (no stains, holes, tears, worn knees, pilled fabric, frayed edges, etc.).
Toys and equipment must be within expiration dates and without recalls, clean, in excellent condition, and with all parts.
When We Buy:
We accept items by drop off only from the 1st through the 5th of most months, during regular business hours.
What We Pay:
Once we have looked through your items, selected the ones we would like to purchase, and priced them, we will write you a check for 30% or give you store credit for 40% of the total and return the remaining items to you.
On or after the 20th of that month you may return to pick up your go backs and your check.
Traveling Pants reserves the right to price things at it’s sole discretion. Feel confident that you will get paid a fair amount based on the criteria indicated. Once you have dropped off your items you are agreeing to Traveling Pants terms.
Tips for sellers:
* If you are new to our store, shop around first to get an idea of what we sell.
* ALL items should be RECENTLY Washed/Cleaned.
* Lay all items neatly in a small box, basket or storage bin (no larger than 18" x 24") or a flat-bottomed shopping bag. Label each container with your complete name and phone number.
*Maximum monthly drop off of 1 small box/bin or 2 regular sized shopping bags.
*Look in natural light for any wear, stains or blemishes, test out zippers, snaps, etc.
